Stay in this historical listed 16th century grade II* farmhouse with an original datestone of 1567. Bach y Graig is steeped in history, being the first brick built building in Wales with many interesting architectural features and was once visited by Dr. Samuel Johnson. The setting is superb with undisturbed views of the Vale of Clwyd.

Bach y Graig is a typical Welsh working family farm with a dairy herd, young stock and also free range hens. Guests can also watch milking in our viewing gallery.

Situated halfway between Chester and Snowdonia, Bach y Graig is an ideal base for your holiday within easy reach of Snowdonia, Betws y Coed, Chester coastal resorts and numerous North Wales attractions.Bodnant Gardens and Erddig are only a short drive away, and there are three castle’s in the immediate area.

The farmhouse has been tastefully restored with a wealth of oak beams, panelling, doors and an inglenook fireplace. We offer bed and breakfast and self catering accommodation.

Many visitors return for a warm Welsh welcome to enjoy the peace and tranquillity. Our guests are welcome to explore and wander along the banks of the River Clwyd, which runs through our farm, with salmon and trout fishing available in season. Another choice is to go on our 40-acre woodland trail, which we have opened for our guests to enjoy the wealth of plants and wild flowers and the abundance of wildlife. Records show that these woodlands date back to mediaeval times and was once hunted by the Black Prince

Bed & Breakfast
The three letting bedrooms have en-suite / private facilities two rooms have power showers, All rooms have tea / coffee making facilities, remote colour TVs and radio alarms. Two bedrooms have the original brass beds, which have been carefully restored,. The large oak beamed lounge has a large inglenook that contains a roaring log fire during the early and late season. The farmhouse has central heating throughout. Our hearty breakfasts are created using local and homemade produce whenever available and in season and, of course, free-range eggs.

Self Catering
The self-catering. Is a self contained wing of the main farmhouse, It comprises of three bedrooms sleeps six persons in a king size double four poster bed, one double and one twin. The bathroom has a Victorian cast iron bath, separate shower cubicle, washbasin, and toilet. Cosy oak panelled lounge with a wood burner colour TV and video. The kitchen is fully equipped with a washing machine, dishwasher, fridge freezer, all electric appliances. Downstairs toilet and washbasin. Large garden with swings.
